Why is one of most people's eyes slightly off-center?

have you ever noticed that one eye is always looking a little off? why is that?

we should have listened to our moms and not crossed our eyes as kids!

Our bodies are naturally slightly asymmetrical (one foot larger than the other, etc). Just as one hand is dominant, most people usually have one dominant eye. The other can sometimes be a bit lazy.

My left eye sees off center too much and has been diagnosed as esotropia.
