Got them Saturday, and I wore them about 7 hrs. I think that was too much. I know you're supposed to wear them a few hours at a time when you first get them. Maybe 5 hrs a day?

i would say you should have only worn them for 4 hours the first day, 6 the next, 8 the next, 10 the next, and 12+ the next. so just keep working yourself up each day. of course, these are only guidelines and you should take them out whenever you feel neccessary.

Start off with 4-6 hours until you get used to them in that time frame. This should only last a couple days. Move to 6-8 hours on the third or fourth day. I would not recommend wearing them longer than 10 hours the first month you have contacts. Never sleep in them. No matter what anybody says, this is never a good idea. Contacts will cut off the oxygen flow to your cornea with extended wear. While you are young you will not see the consequences of extended wear. But after 10 years or so, you will start to get blurred vision from capillaries growing over your pupils.
The only way to fix this is surgery, they will never go away.
Always carry your contact case and solution with you!!!!

You definitely should read over any instruction booklets or anything you got from your doctor...but I've had contacts for about two years and I started off wearing them all day long. If you feel any discomfort or get dry-eyed, then you need to take them out. DON'T wear them while sleeping or swimming, the only exception is a short nap. Unless yours is the kind that you leave in for a week or two nonstop, of course. Ask your doctor if you have any other questions or doubts!

I wear my contacts all day. Just remeber to take them out when you go to sleep and when you go swimming. Also if you have the one a days remember to change them each day. I have the two weeks ones though. You should never use them longer then they say other wise that can worsen your eye sight. When I started using them my eye sight was 3.0 now it's 4.5.

well when i first got them my optician told me to start wearing them at differnet hours at each day
1st day 2hrs
2nd day 4hrs
3rd day 6hrs
4th day 8hrs
5th day 10hrs
And continue to wear them for 10hrs for two weeks.
And after the two weeks wear them for 12hrs and stay like that.

And only wear them 5 days a week to give your eyes a break from them.

Don't wear them when you go to bed, swimming having a shower or if you're doing welding.

Wear them as long as they feel comfortable. If you start noticing they're in your eyes, or start feeling dry-eyed or itchy, then take them out. It may go to 5 hours, maybe less, but you'll get used to them in no time. Then just don't forget to take them out before you go to bed!

Hi

I would speak to your optician - they will tell you how long to wear them for.

It all depends on what type of lens you have - some you wear consistently others you don't....

My advice would be to ring up the optician and ask the question they are best qualified to tell you the answer to this.
