Hiya Christy
For me, God is not the church and God is not the Bible. Neither Church nor Bible are the be-all-end-all of faith. They are strong supports for my faith. I believe because I hear the Holy Spirit talking through other people; words and ideas that have deep meaning in my life or will have deep meaning later.
Believe it or not, I've heard such things here... with only a very small fraction from other Christians. A certain Sufi and a certain Baha'i have said some very powerful things to me that resonate with me as being of the Holy Spirit.
The power of the Bible is its ability to move people to action.
And I've found that God reveals himself in action. More specifically, in loving service.
God is not in the Bible. God is out in the world among us, speaking truths through other people. It takes practice to perceive it. But you'll know when it happens: you're insides will ring like a bell.
I know it all sounds kinda new age. Maybe it is, I dunno.
I hope this made at least a tiny bit of sense.
regards, respects, peace

Not sure to be truthful with you. Some have called me an atheist on this site, but agnostic would be more appropriate.
God gets all the credit for great things when they happen, but who gets the credit for when the tornado rips through a trailer park, and kills a dozen people and injures many?
I believe in an entity that made this planet and surrounding planets and stars, and us and everything here, and I use that as my proof that a creator exists, but one that is portrayed as being good, and on the other side of the ring we have evil...I just don't see it.

It is beyond all rational ideas as to why I believe. It is something inside of me that trusts Yahweh and his words. It compels me to trust that I should transform my mind by living and being the epitome of love (which for me, is a long, long, road...) but I cannot logically put it into words. It is a trust. I can give this reason or that other than it is what it is.
I believe I had some answered prayers, too many to be coincidence. However, again, rationally speaking it could just be luck.
Now dogma/doctrine/etc. on the other hand is rather easy to get rid of. ;-)

Because He created me, He gave me life, He knows me and He has touched me by totally changing not only my life but my feelings and attitudes!
I can't bear the thought of living my life without Jesus and God's Holy Spirit into my heart!
I have already declared (and I always confirm) that my life and everything I have are His!
Look at yourself in the mirror! Where did you come from? Were you a "self created" creature? How come people deny God? It is insane and cold!
Jesus Is the beginning and the end. Everything was made through Him.

I became born again when I did not even know such a thing was possible. It was when I was most angry and bitter against God, after I had told Him to get out of my life, after He showed me for a brief time how completely empty and meaningless life is without Him, that He sent His Holy Spirit, who whispered this simple word into my heart: "Maybe Jesus really did die for your sins".
With that word a great transformation came over me, I was lifted from the lowest pit to the highest mountaintop, and my heart was flooded with peace and joy and hope and love and understanding such as I never knew existed.
I have had peace with God now over 36 years.

It was a logical choice for me.
I examined the evidence, and found there to be much more overwhelming support for God's existence than not.
