God told him not to eat of the tree of good and evil. After he did death came. Before that he could have lived for ever. So why eat anyway(Genesis 2)?

You're ignorance is amazing.

If Adam was to live forever or before he ate the fruit there was no death, then why did God banish them from the Garden so that they can't eat from the fruit of Life that they may live forever?

Death of the flesh is a given, it will come. The death mentioned by God is not about the death of the flesh, rather the death of the soul in Hell.

The serpent deceived Eve, not because the serpent lied rather he told Eve half the truth. The serpent said that surely she won't die, which is the truth, because in Hell, it's an eternal punishment. Surely you're not dead, but burning alive.

Some do not, nor have ever -feared death. This Adam fellow simply chose to be with his wife, and would have none other.

Don't you suppose the Serpent's followers had something, when they said that man only obeyed God because he was scared to die, when God threatened him so? Seems the 'threat of death' made assent or agreement with God a null issue..

That's kind of the whole point of (the traditional interpretation of) the story.

The better question is, Was God a liar when He said "On the day you eat thereof, you shall surely die?" Or was this just one of those instances where He suddenly started speaking "metaphorically" without any warning?

ok, by living forever does not mean one can not starve to death. He would need to replenish his energy somewhere or his biological function would eventually cease. Lets say he couldn't die of anything. He would end up just laying on the ground rotting, unable to get food to replenish his bodies energy.

I don't solely eat because I'd die otherwise. It's a sensual experience which can be very positive with the right foods.

Probably because the food was tasty. I know that staying alive is the last thing on my mind when I sit down to a meal.

what?

he ate because eve brought it to him, eve ate because god created the tree to look desirable to her and adam. then that desire grew with the temptation of the serpent.

god created mans desires
god created the desirable evil.
man sins and god blames us. we cannot change the way we are created. i find this unjust.

He may have been afraid of shrinking if he lacked sustenance. Most men are afraid of that.
