I wait tables at one of only two bars in our small town. There are guys in town working on the pipeline that come in on weekends and proceed to get really drunk. One of them came in, ran up 134.00 tab, got all handsy and grabby with us girls, and left a 1.00 tip. this is just a part time gig i have on the side, so I really don't care if I lose my job...what can I do to make him understand that he's a complete jerk? He usually comes in on Sunday when he's sober and is very nice. Any suggestions will be welcomed. (p.s. our managers are wussies and won't say anything to him)

A friend of mine once told a "dollar tipper": Here's your dollar back, you need it more than me! Insult was instant and clear.

You can say I know I work here and the customer is always right but you come in here all the time, drink a lot, and dont leave us a tip. You left one dollar and we work really hard here. Tips are all we make here since our salary is two dollars an hour. I am only telling you this becuase you are a really nice guy and come in a lot, but I wish you would treat us servers a little better. We deserve it. Be honest. Honesty is the best policy. Dont be rude or say nasty things just direct.

i used to be a pipeliner and when i was younger i was a bartender. some of the guys that work pipeline come from the middle of now where and have no manners at all.
be blunt and tell him that unless he minds his manners he won't get served. they sometimes think that because they are making a ton of money that everyone must bow down to them.
speak to him on sunday but not in front of his work mates and let him know what's up. don't mention the tip situation but let him know that enough is enough.
managers will not say a thing when that much cash is coming in.

Sounds like your just upset b/c he left you a $1 tip. And if he gets handsy & grabby then why don't you tell your manager?

stupid waitresses always expecting large tips! maybe the food & your service wasn't that great OR maybe you should have given him some pu-ssy for a bigger tip. LOL

loser! hahaa.

P.S. i read some answers above me, just commenting on a few....NEVER, ever slap or attempt to slap a customer just b/c their being rude or not leaving a tip for you. Although you can get fired, but for laying a hand on any person, especially while your working, YOU CAN GET SUED + the restaurant & worse, he can call the police on you & have you arrested for assault. regardless how rude a person is being, always report it to your manager & LET THE MANAGER HANDLE IT, NOT YOU!

You aren't Mr Whipple and I'm not a roll of Charmin. Next time you try and grab some a$$, you better be sure you medical is paid up, because I don't intend to let you continue to physically assault me anymore without payback. I've been tollerant up until now because I realize it must be difficult to deal with the shortcomings life has dealt you, no manners, no generosity, no manhood, but at this point I have to stand my ground and say NO MORE!

I'm a bit outraged to hear that management will do nothing about this. The man should be escorted out of the bar by a member of management or bouncer/security if you have it.

Have the girls take turns peeing in a jar and save it under the bar. If this guy acts up,"freshen" up his beer. Tell him "this one is on the house".

Smile as you walk up to said offender on Sunday, and as calmly as you can, tell him if he wants to keep his hand and/or arm, he should keep his fingers and hands to himself. Be prepared to slap him if he grabs at you again, if your boss tries to fire you and you have brought the issue up to them, you can counter sue for sexual harassment on the job that employer would do nothing about. (I took matters into my own hands when I was younger. I had a pot of hot coffee in my hand and a guy grabbed my rear. I poured the coffee into his lap and said, "I'm sorry, was that hot?" and walked away. When my boss asked what was going on, I told her. Her husband came out after she told him and waited for the customer to leave. When they tried to pay the bill, he said, It's on the house, never come back.)

Say nothing.

The managers say nothing because they know the workers get drunk and lose track of how much MONEY they are spending.

Look at it this way: you are earning money and they are literally flushing theirs down the toilet. He is too drunk to understand that he is being a pig.

Find another job as you won't change his level of ignorance.

My husband knows many people like him (husband designs the equipment), they are drillers, earn mega bucks, but that is all they know how to do and drink their faces off every night off and chain smoke while working.

They work hard, live hard and die young.

When he comes in on Sunday tell him exactly what you mean. Tell him that you do not like it when he touches you. That's it.
