My fiance and I will be going on a cruise for our honeymoon, and we are trying to decide which excursions to go on. (We don't want to do Stingray City)

The Atlantis Submarine looks pretty cool, but I was wondering if anyone has had first-hand experience with it.

If you've never been on a similar sub trip, Atlantis is OK but nothing to write home about. There really isn't that much to see fish wise. Why not go to Hell (he'll be there once the homeymoon rubs off) and the turtle farm. They both are amazing and interesting places to spend a day.

Yes, I've been on Atlantis in Grand Cayman. It was OK - didn't really see many fish. I liked Stingray City much better, and Rum Point even more! The stingrays are fantastic [and I'm a "chicken" about stuff like that!]. You should go with a private tour, though [Nativeway and Capt. Marvins are two popular ones - I've done both and liked Nativeway better.] Just make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to get back to the ship.

BTW - If you do decide to do Atlantis, don't do it through the ship. It's literally a five-minute walk [to the right after you go through the tender port] - easy to do yourself. They have a website.

You can get other opinions on this and lots of other aspects of cruising by going to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" at the top of the page, then go to "Ports of Call" - you'll find more info than you could ever want!!

Have a great time.

Yup, pretty cool. Go during the day when the sun is brightest; that's when visibility should be at its best. I think they have a 12:30 trip and it costs around US$80. Have fun...
