Toshiba is a first rate, quality, reliable TV and this 32" Toshiba Regza HDTV is a really good one. Of all the "name brand" LCD TVs, Philips/Magnvox (same mfg.) has the most consumer problems and is the least reliable. Stay away form this brand and from all those new ones you've never heard of, like Ilo, Insignia, Maxent, Vizio, and Olevia, and those names you associate with cameras and washing machines, like Polaroid, Westinghouse, and RCA. Go with the high quality, reliable brands like Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony, and Hitachi and you'll be happy you spent the extra for quality!

Toshiba!!!! Stay far and clear of ANY Phillips/Magnavox LCD/Plasma. The reliability record is horrible and they always seem to have a purple tint on every dark color. Plus the menu navigation is a bit awkward.

Maybe their quality control is different in Europe, but in North America I found their products inferior and not worth the cost.

Personally - I would go for the Philips 32PFL as it's a good little budget TV with decent quality and lots of decent features for the price. It's got plenty of power to make casual viewing a pleasant experience and if you have good quality sources to feed it - e.g. HD - then this set represents really outstanding value for money
