I'm purchasing a dishwasher and I called 2 different places. Their cheapest dishwasher at both places is right at $300. However.. one of them is a Frigidaire and the other is a Kenmore. Which one is worth the money? Better? Also.. any tips on installing a dishwasher.. I can get it in place.. but I need advice on the water line, drainage line, etc. THANKS!

They are both of equal value. I believe Kenmore is from Sears and their warrenties are better. Maybe decide that way.

I bought several Frigidaire (Electolux) dishwasher units for some rental properties. You are lucky that yours lasted 2 years. Within weeks, my tenants were complaining that the dishes did not get rinsed properly, or the unit wouldn't even run. I have since discovered that Frigidaire (Electolux) Tappan Dishwashers are poorly rated, and are to be avoided for their poor quality and poor reliability. I am very angry that national retailers even carry such poorly manufactured products. I'm sure Frigidaire (Electolux) Tappan Dishwashers are all built by child slaves in China, who work 20 hours a day for a penny. No wonder they are such garbage ! Frigidaire (Electolux) Tappan Dishwashers are low quality, unreliable, substandard, inferior, products. DO NOT BUY Frigidaire (Electolux) Tappan Dishwashers! They are the worst !

I cannot say this loud and long enough. KITCHENAIDE.

We have been married 40 years and have had 3 Kitchenaide dish washers in that time. They are excellent. And No repairs.

If your dishwasher is in an island or the wall borders a family room or bedroom, get the quiet type. They will cost twice as much, but they will last 2 to 3 times as long.

I know you did not ask this but I am offering advice anyway.
WHAT YOU PAY IS WHAT YOU GET IN LIFE.

Maytag is the washer and dryer you want. In 38 years we had two sets and just bought a new set last year. This is with no repairs in all that time.

If you are replacing one, they pull and install in the price. If you have never had one, you will have to pay for installation.
Professional installation (they do it all the time) is usually best.
It requires electricity and water. They empty into the garbage disposal.
