That masturbation is selfish, sinful, and other things to make boys feel guilty for something they can't help.

Not I. But when delving into the Bible and Jesus's righteous standards for the Kingdom of Heaven I must confess, masturbation is a sin.

Although Jesus never explicitly says masturbation is a sin, we do not have to look much further than Jesus' condemnation of a lust filled mind. For the Lord says "You have heard it long ago that you shall not commit adultery, but I say to you that if you soever look upon a woman to lust after her, you have already committed adultery with her in your heart."

So you must ask yourself. In the act of masturbation, what are you thinking about? Is it a) a toilet bowl, b) a cup of coffee or c) the lusting after the flesh and sexual exploits of the female/male body? For most of us, I would have to answer c. Therefore, you can see that masturbation is nothing more than lusting after flesh which is adultery of the heart in which Jesus condemns such action. Amen?

Actually, I was raised in a fairly unbelieving liberal home. We talked about sex, I read my father's porn from when I was 12 and did what every other boy did - without any sense of guilt being put on me by anybody. Yes, I was ashamed to admit that to my dad, but he explained to me it's normal.

Then I became a Christian, started reading the Bible, and I became aware - without anybody telling me that - that it's wrong to do that because it involves lust after woman that aren't my wife (I was 16 at the time).

So, nobody told me that, and yet I knew it's wrong - and yes, I struggled with it. But it's definitely wrong!

Now, fathers should try and help their sons to overcome this sin before they become addicted to it. They should do it in Christian love, patience ... but definitely should do it!

Nobody is MAKING you do it. Anyone who does that sinful act is choosing to do it.
