Thank you for the answers so far, you guys. I recommend this book for reading if you are already Christian. it references C.s. Lewis and is very interesting. Thank you, Patron for other recommendations. -

Oh, Leopold. Thank you for your input. I am letting her boyfriend "get on with his life". of course, since I do know God exists and will take all who choose to go to eternal existence with Him and all of us others who love Him, I would prefer to have her boyfriend with us too. And I would prefer you are there too! Enjoy your clams. : )

I am a Christian, not a Catholic. I read this book a couple weeks ago. I think anyone regardless of their religious belief, should read this book. It really opened my eyes to evolution. It also gave me a better understanding of creationism and intelligent design. I now think they are completely illogical. To say "God did it" to explain what we do not know is complete ignorance to our scientific knowledge. When Collins talked about Galileo that really made me think about evolution too. The Catholic church taught the sun revolved around the earth. Galileo went before the Roman Inquisition because he said the earth revolved around the sun. The church was wrong. They are walking that same path with evolution. Theologians should stick to theology and leave science to scientists. They are just making fools of themselves. Theistic evolution does go with Genesis. Even Pope John Paul II believed in theistic evolution. I did not know this before I read this book.

If your daughter's boyfriend has an open mind, then he will understand that scientific evidence does point to God as creator. I have a BS in molecular biology. I cannot believe how ignorant I was to evolution based on my religious beliefs. There is so much scientific evidence out there. We cannot be ignorant to it. There are other good books out there such as The Science of God and The Hidden Face of God by Gerald L. Schroeder. I highly recommend both books.

Edit:
In response to Zaru's comment. Francis Collins is not an atheist. He has not been an atheist for a long time now. He is a former atheist.

Is it "DNA: THe Language of God" by Francis Collins?

I haven't read it, but I've been wanting too. I think is about the incredible design of life and the universe that couldn't have happened by chance.

also be sure to check out the newly released "What's so Great about Christianity" by New York Times best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza.
He defends the Christian faith and shows how important it has been and is to Western Civilization and to the advent of modern science itself! God blesss.

Well, i'm not Catholic, but i thought it was good :)

^ It's about how an atheist scientist found that science itself proves the existence of God.

You're better off not doing it and just letting him get on with his life, you're not going to be able to convince him that you're god exists.
