decorate a room for two teenage girls? I'm seventeen and my sister is 14, we share a medium sized roomm. All we Have are twin beds and a table with the computer on it. The walls are white, as well as the carpet. There are two windows, one very large on the wall whit the head of the beds are, and to the right, a smaller one. Perpendicular to the smaller window, there is a large closet without a door. I'm into a very punk rock, pink girly style. My sister loves pink, but she's also very sportish. We are in desparate need of good designs. Any idea's that anyone would lke to contribute? THANKS! please don't post nasty or "smart aleck" answers, they don't help. I know i'm almostmoving out, but this is somehting my sister and I want to do together. SHe is in as much need for help as i am. Thank you again.

1] get some pink print bedding and curtains [ stripes, dots, flowers, plaid, whatever ] Pick a second color you both like, such as green, yellow, peach, blue, for small acceespories.
2] buy various pink throw pillows, in all different pinks.
3] look for a folding door, or a set of fabric shower curtains to put on a rod, for the closet. [ will make the room a lot neater, and look less cluttered.]
4] frame all art [ posters, photos, etc. ] in white, pink, wood of furniture, or brass or chrome. You can put what you like up, and she can put her stuff up, and they won't clash, because of similar framing.
5] get underbed clear storage bins for both of you, and shelf dividers for closet. Add shoe rack[s], and more clear storage bins for floor of closet.
6] are you getting any more furniture? Suggest you get a dresser, desk, and tall chest of drawers, depending on room size. Maybe a cozy reading chair.

Since you will be departing soon, ask your sister what she would like to see in the room. Her color preference is pink so go to Home Depot and look at all of the different shades, get some of the sample color cards and bring them home to see what would look good. Pick out a color that you both like and start painting.
Use your imagination and customize the room with a sporty touch.

pink and black is a great compromise
that way all your black punk stuff will coordinate as well as her pink stuff
paint the walls pink with black stripes on one wall
do you bed in black and grey
hers in pink and whatever other color she likes
get storage for both of you
have seperate shelves where you can put up your own individual accesories
also each of you should have your own cork boards so you dont clutter the walls with posters and pics
grey rug and black curtains

since you and your sister have already found a color in common, pink, use it. pair it with a blue, orange, black, or any other color you like together. then try an opposite them with your bedding, etc. an example is have orange sheets and a pink blanket on your bed and have pink sheets and a orange blanket on hers. you could also paint two walls one color and the other two the other color. mix and match.
