My husband and I are buying a new house and need new furniture for it. A suite, bed, tables, wardrobes etc. I was going to go to Argos for most of it. Do you think I should?

Yeah why not, as good as anywhere else I suppose but the majority of stuff needs to be built by yourselves. All my bedroom furniture are from Argos and I've had no problems at all with it. Good luck xx

there are some furniture items that I would buy from Argos, and some that I wouldn't. The problem with buying sofas there is you can't try them out. I've sat in one too many uncomfortable argos sofa's in my time! Ikea would be a safer bet for similar money. The bed, and other furniture wouldn't be so much of a risk. But in my experience the cheaper stuff tends to wear quickly, and isn't as strong as similarly priced flatpacks from Ikea.

Depends on your budget and whether you want brand new. I recently bought a "ready to assemble" bookcase from Argos which, manufactured in Indonesia was Ok and reasonably priced. It was only afterwards I wished I'd thought of the 2nd hand market -
in particular the larger Charity shops, which often have rather more solid (lasting) stuff
- almost new and very good value. (For a bed the most important element is the mattress which you can buy brand
new,separately).

Yes we have bought a lot of furniture from argos and it was reasonably priced and after 6 years most of it is still as good as new with just the usual wear and tear from having five kids!! But everything is just as good as going to specialist shops

My mum got a conservatory sette and chairs from Argos, and they're fine.
We hardly ever get any complaints about furniture customers have bought either, as I work at Argos.
The same applies to most furniture as other items, as long as it's not been used, etc, you can return it within 30days. You'll be able to get a refund, but minus your delivery charge.

Argos is okay but if you want it to last go some where like Furniture village. Good quality & not too expensive. You can choose modern or oldie worldie....

i found that argos was very reliable when i ordered my sofas from them. They also responded to all my emails and also garenteed me a delivery on a certain date and there was no troubles . I was so pleased with my purchase and the delivery rate is much more reasonable than ikea.

Good Luck with the new house!
