My insurance adjuster came out and cut me a check for 1,200. The check issued is a fair price. The shop i trust gave me a quote of 1,300 which means I will only have to pay 100 out of pocket. My deductible is 500. Do i still have to pay 500 even though the check will cover most of the expenses?

The check should be already less your DD...the adjuster should have given you a copy of his estimate to do the repairs...look at the total and see what it is...if it's 1700.00, then that's why the check is for 1200.00. If you go to another shop that does not fix all the damages for what the insurance co estimate is for, you cannot go back to them for a supplement for damages. Best to discuss it with the bodyshop and adjuster before starting repairs. Somewhere there's a 400.00 difference in the repairs which some shops will discount to get the job but some will just not fix something that should be fixed.

No. You have to pay whatever the balance is, after that check, to the body shop.
