Why don't you sit down and look through a catalogue with her, just make it a fun thing and not let her know that your're trying to get ideas off her for Xmas. See what sparks her interest and hopefully then you will have something to go on.
Or you could get her to write a letter to father christmas, there are lots of pages on the internet where you can do that and she'll even get a personalised letter back from him!

wow... i'm having the same trouble this year. not that my girl is becoming particularly spiritual, but she just seems to be in that wierd in-between baby and big girl place where gifts are harder to figure out...... my daughter does like american girl stuff, so that might be a good place for you to start, and there's tons of stuff, so you might even be able to add to her collection on other gift-giving occasions. good luck !!

I give my daughter the big toy book Toys R Us releases every year. I have her go thru it and circle what she wants. I tell her this is for santa...and she loves doing it!
plus it helps me figure out what she wants!

Books?
Crafts?
Webkinz are really popular with that age, plus it gets them doing things on the computer. Hope this helps.
