The reason stones don't have legs is that, as inanimate object, they don't reproduce, sexually or otherwise. So there's no exchange of DNA, no chance for random mutations, nothing necessary for evolution to take place. You may not know this, but rocks are not alive.

I find it hard to believe you're as dim as your question would suggest. I'm going to assume you're not representitive of the creationist side as a whole.

Each creature has been specially created... Why aren't there monkeys turning into humans today? All animals have characteristics. Like my dog, he has some similar characteristics and that dosen't mean that he will evolve into a human, even in many years time. Genetics would be similar because we are made up of similar stuff, e.g. Hair, skin, bones, muscles, etc.
