The purpose of God is for us to love one another, regardless of our faults and beliefs.
The purpose of Religion is Governance and control.
Most religious dogma is geared to make the believer feel
special so they will give more time and money to the organization. Since it is easier to tear down then to build up, religious leaders spend much of there time teaching their congregations why the other guy is bad.
Most people just spout this predigested philosophy,
since its easier than thinking for oneself. Besides most
people are intimidated (hell, fire, and brimstone) into following the established line.
Judge not, lest you be Judged.

most people on the religion board are here only to judge and preach and do not really want to ask questions.
they aren't interested in doing anything but feeling good about themselves at the expense of others. but sadly that is what religion is for lots of people.
