I agree! Take some photos of those bruises before they fade. Talk it over with your X if you think he will listen, if not you should report it. Hitting your kids is just not right, especially in the ribs or pinching them so hard it leaves marks! That cant happen from just playing. Protect your son first and foremost.

Pinching a kid won't get CPS to do anything other than make a home visit. That'll be the end of it. Instead, you should TALK to your child's father about his discipline techniques. The two of you created your son together, so raising him together is a must. Keep written records of when you've observed any bruises and what your son says about how they get there. If his father continues to leave marks on him, THEN report him.

YES, his Father should be reported most definitely! Kicked in the ribs?!? I think he should at least be getting some anger management and parenting classes.. There are better ways to punish your kids than by pinching them, that's awful, especially if he leaves bruises. =(

I cant believe you are wasting time by posting this question. Why wouldnt you report him? Your son is old enough to not make up stories, and not to lie to you. Can you just imagine what else your son has had to go through but was too young to say anything??? Take pictures of the bruises and report his father!! Your son deserves a good father. Not one that will kick him or punch him in the ribs!

I would be asking question what i be doing. I would chat with the father and get to the bottom of it taking anger out on a child is not right and myself wouldn't want to see a child get hurt. If it gets bad yeah it should be reported

First and foremost, call CPS. Secondly, you need to get an attorney to file for a protective order. Also, you need to record your child telling you about where he got the bruises because he may clam up in front of a social worker.

I would defenitly report this to cps. Although he hasn't been majorly hurt yet....if you don't do something his father could lose his temper and end up really hurting you son. No child deserves to be bruised minor or major there are other ways to discipline a child then raising your hand to them. I would defenitly do something.

definitely...i think your child's dad should go take a seminar for him to know what are the family codes on your location. ask your legal officer in your town so that you have at least a backup in case your child's dad lost his mind and hurt you and the child again.

take pictures and call the cops,, then see a lawyer and have a temporary custody hearing to keep your son out of his hands.
that is nuts and neither your son nor his sister should be in his care, w/o supervision at least
good luck!
