Will white ink show up on a pale person? If so, does it stay white? If not, can a tattoo artist do pastel colors?

Yes white will show up on a pale person - how it matures is questionable. It is near impossible to determine how it will end up - I have seen white go yellow on some people and stay nice on others. I would say it is always best to stick with white as a highlighting color - this is how it is used most successfully.

Pastel colors can work well in the right situation. Much of this depends on the design.

most tattoo artist will only use white ink to highlight and a small amount of it too. this is because white ink is questionable some peoples skin will hold the ink well while others fade out quickly. and yes most tattoo artists have pastel colors. but your best bet is to ask the tattoo artist your going to about all the questions you have because every tattoo artist is different and some have limitations. and remember to go for who does better work and not by who will charge less. good luck hope your tat comes out awesome

i was looking into this a while ago, and this is what i was told by a trusted tattoo artist:

some tattooists will do white tattoos, but to be honest, they dont last well, they only work when they're done too heavy and almost scar the skin, and even then only on certain parts of the body. they disappear within a year as the pigment in your skin is darker than the white pigment of the ink, and either have to be redone - which can tear and scar the skin eventually - or will totally disappear.
i get asked occassionally about white tattoos, as people see photos in magazines - usually fresh tattoos just done and lit so that the white seems really bright - but this is always my response.

hi, yes white ink will show up, especially on a pale person. However, i have found that they go yellow if you have a suntan and tend to fade quite quickly (within 2-3 years) and i eventually decided to get mine covered over. hope this helps.
