I'm getting a tattoo of a dove on the back of my shoulder to honor a lost loved one.. I want it to be simple and feminine but I cant decide how large I want it .. the 2 doves I'm stuck between is this one..

or this one

I love how cute and simple the first one is but the second one has beautiful wings but idk if that will be too big for me. I'm a small girl so I wanted something simple, easy to cover up if I have to.. What would you choose?

I know some of you may say "that someones else's doves, you should get your own made" .. I totally agree with that.. I'm using these doves as a basis model of what i want.

Thanks for your opinions.

I like the second one better, I can't find the picture at the moment but there is a really nice Dove tattoo on BME it's very simple but really well done.

If i was to have a dove i'd have one like this

Probably the first. It more simple. The second is pretty though. Art can be funny, in time a more simple design may stay more pleasing than something too elaborate.
Here one you may want to check out.

Think this out very well before you do. There many designs and you be pretty much committed once it done.

I am back. This a good example of thinking LOL! Just the time I left and thought. You can also, use the first choice and add the olive branch. Also, may have a ribbon with the person's name. Look at mine for example. Snagelfritz may be a little long, so, think Snag for short. Good Luck and think it over real well, as it may be a lifelong choice.

That's tough! They're both beautiful. I guess if it were me, I'd pick the 2nd one. It just looks more graceful than the first because it has a little but more detail. Bring the pic with you when you get your tattoo done, and tell the guy you want it SMALL. Show him how big, and he'll be able to make it that size for you.

It should end up looking awesome!! What a great way to honor the loss of a loved one.

I think the second doves looks better. Although, if you want to keep it simple and like the wings on the second, you could just get one of the doves and no heart.

I like the first one it is small and cute and you can always alter it a bit to add more detail. But for your shoulder blade I would go with the first one, also later in life you could add things around the first one better to symbolize other things that have happened in your life.

I like the first one because it is smaller and cuter. The second one seems big and I don't know...triumphant. If you're getting the tat for a lost loved one, make it more personal and go with the 1st one. Good luck!

I like both of them :)

A good tattoo artist should be able to design something for you that combines the simplicity of the first, with the wing detail of the second.

I like both of the doves but if I had to chose I would pick the first because it's small and I like small tattoes better.
