TV dinners have been around since the 40's. They used to come in a metal dish and you heated it up in your oven(way before microwaves). The only equivalent of TV dinners were military issure MRE's.

Quiet peaceful dinners at home cooked by mom. And real conversation, instead of being entertained by a big box with pictures on it.

Leftovers - really before frozen foods there was only the option of home cooking, restaurant foods and leftovers.
