My son's eczema has flared up so severely. I've never seen it so bad before. I'm not aware of any major changes in diet, use of soaps, or other environmental things. Does eczema get worse in the teen years? Anyway, I think the doctor should see him but I am not sure if it should be his allergist or a dermatologist.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

i jsut got eczema about 2 months ago and i thought it was posion ivy and i did not want to waste money on going to jsut a regular physician so i went to a dermatologist.

you should go purchase a bottle of tea tree oil and put a few drops in a spray bottle with water and spray it on his skin. it works. if he have eczema on his head, there are also shampoo with tea tree oil. walgreens sells a shampoo call Jason Tea Tree Oil shampoo and conditioner. i have tried everything and nothing works better than that oil!

go to doctor first, then dermatologist if it gets worse. Eczema shows up when hormonal changes occur (teen years).

My youngest daughter had it when she was born and her pediatrician sent us to a dermatologist.

He recommended bathing in Ivory soap, tepid water, using creams with no alcohol or perfume in them and preferably Vaseline.

Eczema can be the result of allergies but our allergies change often so I personally find the shots a waste of $$$.

You may have to see both. A dermotologist for treatment and an allergist to find the source of the problem. The source below can help you find a skin doctor in your area.

I think you should see your GP first and he will give you advice about where to go if your son has any severe problems
