Larry would have been the winner, hands down. Not to take anything away from Tony, but he was at best a slugger, not a boxer like Larry. Go Larry, he is totally underrated. I believe he was a wonderful champ. Tony ,as I said was a slugger and no champ.

Tony Tubbs was a pretty decent fighter with skills, but not nearly on the same skill level as Larry Holmes who of course was a very good boxer with an outstanding jab. Tubbs would have probably given a good effort against Holmes who would have controlled the fight with his superior jab winning the unanimous decision.

Larry would knock him out, without question.
Tony Tubbs was okay at best, but Larry Holmes was/is one of the best heavyweights to ever walk the planet.
Larry wouldnt even sweat, and the beating would be one sided.

Tony Tubbs always come to the ring out of shape. Larry will win an easy unanimous decision.

Holmes would have Jabbed Tubbs for 15rds. Tubbs was not as deadicated as Holmes in training as Holmes was a beast in the gym from me seeing videos of him training. Holmes UD in 15 Lopsided!

both good answers, though fat and bloated most of the times. tubbs had very good boxing skills, but he did not have the drive, spirit or championship character of larry holmes. neither did pinklon, page, dokes, tucker, or buster or john tate. holmes by decision of wide margin. 11 rds to 4.

holmes by decision, tubbs - when in shape - would make it interesting, but larry is an all time great & hall of famer.

Maybe a little competitive early, then a one-sided blow out leading to a tko later on. The difference being conditioning.
