Depends, they're all different chemicals. The ones you can buy in pet stores - any ones - are often harmful to animals, so I certainly wouldn't want them on children. The ones you buy in vets, like Frontline are not. I believe they advise on the instructions to allow the animal to dry before letting children pet them.

Don't be using powders anyway, or anything from a pet store, you'd be wasting your time as well as possibly endangering your animals/children. Pet stores aren't licensed to sell the proper chemicals for flea treatment - anything you find in store is just going to be a basic pesticide that you can't expect to work- or be safe.

They certainly are if swallowed and they contain pesticides so I would not allow children to handle them. Frontline Plus and Advantage used on pets are most effective for getting rid of fleas, less toxic than pet store products and don't pose a risk to your children once dry.

not so if you let your pet dry befor the kids go nere them.
