I transfer a car to my sis in law and i told her to pay the last 3 more payments. so she made them late and i never told her anything and she went behind my back with her boyfriend to the car lot and asked for the tittle and im on it so they didnt give it to her i told her that i needed to put her name on tittle first and she went twice more and screamed at the salesman for the tittle. she wants me to put it under her bf name and i dont want to bc the deal was with her and she got mad and told me to go get the car and is being rude about. i dont wan to put it on his name bc he is a thief and i dont know what kind of problems hell get me into bc they have the car parked outside some apts. and im afraid they use it with my name to steal. so i told her im gonna go pick it up or for her to be ok with me putting under her name. the thing is my bf gave her the spare key we had and know we have to take it from there in a rude way which is the toll truck.she wont listen to me. any advice?

Stick to your guns and give her the money back and tell her to take a hike.

I agree with the above answers. You have a sticky situation. Never never give anyone a car with your name on the title. You are opening yourself up to a ton of liability. Heaven forbid she had gotten into a major accident. You would be liable. If the thief bf has used it in a crime, you would be culpable somewhat. But worst of all, since she made three late payments under your credit account, your credit has now been damaged.

The bottom line is that you still own this car. Decide whether or not you want it and do what you have to do.

Since the car is under your name you are the rightful owner of it. If you are really tired of her and you are ready to just wash your hands from her then I say call the police and either tell them you let her borrow it and now she won't give it back which would be considered stolen then. Or ask them if they will escort you to pick up your car in order to prevent anything from happening. If they go with you also ask them to make her give you the spare key back to the car. After that I would either sell or trade that car in. If you are going to keep it I'd be sure to keep it in a garage. You have tried the nice way and it didn't work now its time to be tuff even if it is a family member. Well I hope this helps

This may cause a problem between you both, but you need to demand the car back or demand that it is put in her name. You can tell her that you will report the car stolen if she refuses to give it back.Like I said,it may cause a problem between you,but given hers and the bf's history, they are at the least going to ruin your credit, and at worst the thief bf could commit a crime with it.This is a bad situation taht needs to be resolved ASAP.I have done it in the past and it is NEVER a good idea to have your name on a car for someone else.Good luck!

Take the car back and sell it to someone else. She has taken advantage of you and will continue to do so. You may be able to have a locksmith make a new set of keys for it. It sounds like she needs some "anger management" classes.

Well you have the title in hand right?

Clearly in your name -

I would go to her house - and repo the vehicle -
( I own 2 tow trucks)

You may have to hire someone to do this - more $$
(thats why I bought 2 of them)

Now if you had anything in writing from her - like an agreement you may want to go to the police with that and they will arrange free towing.
Simply report it stolen - let the law have the loser BF

You have a major unstable situation...Even if everything was well in the family you NEVER give a car to someone and leave your name on the title... If that person has a accident they will come after you as the vehicle's owner. Either get the car back..or.. give it to her as a gift.

GIVE HER THE $900.00 AND BE DONE WITH HER BUT DO THIS TRANSACTION AT YOUR (DMV) OFFICE WHILE YOU BOTH ARE AT THE WINDOW TO TRANSFER IT BACK, THIS WAY SHE WONT TRY AND RIP YOU OFF, ALSO MAKE HER SIGN A RELEASE ON THE VEHICLE .
