Why is your financial situation any of his business? When dating ya'll financial business is your own. You only share financial information once you are married... and you've only been dating 2 months!!
There is nothing wrong with being a volunteer and doing exactly what you are doing. If you really feels he needs to know, then just tell him like you did on yahoo answers. If he goes away, then the relationship was not meant to happen anyway. Good luck.

Definitely tell him!!! How would you feel if he never told you something and you found out he wasn't being honest. You'd feel betrayed right? You'd start wondering what else he has kept from you. You don't want him feeling that way about you. Any relationship (romantic, friendship, etc) is based on trust and honesty. Come clean now and if he doesn't understand your situation, he isn't the right guy for you. Better to know that now. You don't need to blurt it out, but you should level with him.... sit him down and say something like... "I have to tell you something. It isn't a big deal, but I don't want to keep anything from you....I don't want to start this relationship with secrets ...." (just an idea of what to say...you can say whatever you want) His reaction will tell you if he is the right guy for you. Good Luck!

i dont think your being an assistant should be an issue. but i guess what you are trying to say is about honesty.
well, it is not bad to tell him something like this:
"lovely man, i need to tell you something because i feel i should be honest with you. it is important for me to be honest with you because you are important to me. it's about the thing i told you about my profession during the time when we were in the getting to know each other stage. i wasn't completely honest about my current job. i am working as a volunteer teaching assistant. i am not getting paid there. i am still working to gain experience. i hope you are not mad at me for not telling you about it sooner. but since we've became close, i want to come clean, and be honest with you.'
something to that effect. you can be sweeter in emphasizing that the reason why you are making a big deal about it is because you dont want to hide anything from him because he means a lot to you.
good luck!

First of all, are you ashamed of what you do? If not, then there shouldn't be any time frame in telling him - when it comes up in conversation go for it. If you are ashamed of what you do, you best figure that out & start making changes within yourself so that you can find a paying job!

I say just go on and tell the man. He really shouldn't care too much about it unless he's really shallow, and why would you want to be with a very shallow person like that??

It always pays to be honest. Don't start your relationship on a lie.
