A mini dvd for a camcorder.
Dvd was NOT finalized.
Can it be erased accidently not even knowing it while in the camera? Does charging the battery (charging is done with the camera) with the dvd in there may have caused it to loose all pictures?
We had movies and pictures on a DVDr recordable disc and when we went to put in the computer or Sony DVD player, or back in the camera, there is nothing there and camera is saying it cannot read it.

Please any advice on how to retrieve these special moments?

The camera is supposed to pick up where it leaves off to continue to record.
Camera says, "can not recognize recordable disc", when it has been recorded on and there are pictures and movies on it already. Disc has no scratches on it. It recorded fine before.

it would have to be a dvd-rw to be erased. dvd-r can only add more information to the disc. it could be possible that you recorded over it (i've never owned a dvd-cam so not positive) but there would be noise still. Charging should have no effect on the information on the disc.
