I don't let him drink too much at one time but he still gets hiccups EVERY SINGLE TIME he drinks a little or a lot of water. And he does too sometimes after he eats. Why is this?

Of course about the vaccines but no I am not going to have him neutered, he is a future show and breeding American Bulldog with champion lines. But thanks anyways.

It is very common in puppies to get hicupps as they get older most grow out of it. One of mine used to have them about 5-7 times per day now as an adult he rarely ever has a problem.
It seems to be something that they grow out of as they get larger in size.
Giving ice instead of water may help but I would not worry to much unless the dog voimits or something from them.
They will pass and he should outgrow the problem.

You can ask the vet, but my guess is that he is gulping in a lot of air, too. There are bowls now that are designed to slow down fast eaters; one might help to slow him down when he drinks. Or, you can have him drink water from a bottle (like the type for rabbits) rather than a bowl.

Well you got your answer several times about the air.... they just get sooo excited at that age. I'd like to know why people can't just answer the question and not say ignorant things like telling you what to do with your pet, for example, everyone tells everyone to neuter or spay their pet.........SHUT UP! It's none of your business, and we have every right not to fix them whether we breed them or not. That is, as long as you are responsible for them, that is the real issue isn't it.

Puppies have hiccups naturally. Try giving him ice cubes. I t will make him lick the water insted of gulping it down. Don't forget to get all of his vaccinations and neuter him.

He must be growing!! LOL! Just kidding! He is swallowing air along with the water! He will outgrow this! He must be drinking way too fast!

we were told that when your puppy hiccups its just a sign that he is growing....our puppy hiccuped all the time...when he was sleeping, eating, after drinking, playing...whatever...now he never hiccups. I wouldn't be too worried about it...

He's probably a sloppy drinker and is swallowing a lot of air with his water.

he could just be drinking too fast when he does drink.. if you are worried call your vet and ask for some advice.
