Isaiah 40:8
"The grass withers and the flowers fall but the Word of God stands forever."
The verses preceding this one say that the grass is men and the flowers their glory. The verse is saying men and their glory will fade away but God's Word will last forever!

everyone has named great ones. I don't have a favorite, though. But i really like all the ones everyone named.
Everyone has a verse that helps give them faith and hope during different situations. <3

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5
I love this verse because it is a constant reminder that He is my source of greatness. None of the things that I have accomplished in my life are because of me, but because of Him! He is my source of strength, courage, mercy, hope, love, everything! It is also the "proof" that so many ask for. We know that He is because we see Him in us! Kind of how you know the apple came from a tree even though you may never see the tree that the apple fell from!

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end." Jeremiah 29:11
It simply means that God has a plan for each of us, and it's a plan to bring us to peace in this life, and eternal life after we take our last breath here. With God, we have a future and a hope.

If you want to know what is going on in the world today - Read Ezekiel 39.
Verses 27-29 reads
"When I have brought them again from the people; and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them; for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord God."
Israel has won miraculous battles. At one time they fought 5 nations and won. They have been at war ever since 1948 when they became a nation in one day which is fulfilled prophecy.
Watch - keep your eyes on Israel - you will see God stand up and fight for His people Israel. I pity Ahmadinejad and whoever fights with him. Only 1/6 of them will return home.
Israel is the example for the world. God made them an example, because they went whoring after other gods instead of Him. Any nation that forgets God is in trouble.
Verse 23-25
"And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against Me, therefore I hid my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name." God did this in 1948.
God made Israel measure off a portion of the Holy Land for Him and God will not take kindly any man who divides His land. God chose Israel, the Jewish people and the portion of Israel's land. Keep in mind that God owns the earth and all that is in it. He is Creator of all regardless of what you hear.

Matthew 7:13, 14 , 21-23 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; Â whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it..
..Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness."
Many say that "all religions lead to the same place". These scriptures clearly indicate a difference of opinion. Why did Jesus say that only a few choose the cramped road? Primarily because only a minority want God’s laws and principles to govern their lives and to help them resist the many inducements to and opportunities for wrongdoing around them. Furthermore, only a comparative few are prepared to fight illicit desire, peer pressure, and the fear of ridicule that may come their way because of the path they have chosen. (1 Peter 4:4)

In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.
It's just amazing how existence came into being from complete non-existence. How science, time, and everything so fundamental came into being sin such humbling simplicity.
