Relax, Like every free country we have extremes and "One Nation" is a group of people who have strange views and are criticized in the local media as being VERY UN-Australian. Normal mainstream Aussies are very tolerant of differences and diversity. There are also many Muslim's in Australia who work and live quiet happily. I have seen women working in many stores wearing Head scarfs including K-Mart, Mc Donald's, local school, and a small dress shop. If the store has a uniform I believe that they also provide a head scarf as an option if required. One Nation is a small group of people and I have never directly seen anyone or any actions from them - it is really all media hype. And I live only an hour from Ipswich which is where Pauline Hansen comes from. We probably have 500 Muslims working and living here happily for every single one nation fool. So you would definitely be in the Majority.

Welcome and enjoy the best country of earth.

Please see the below site as our government has written a paper to address all this overseas hype that your obviously hearing.

The answer given by "Jeanyos" is an excellent answer. I live in Melbourne and there are many Muslims here and a number of Mosques, mostly in the northern suburbs but also elsewhere. There are also number of good "Halal" butchers and restaurants in Melbourne.
