(*all names changed*) Ok, well last night I was at my confirmation class and my friend, Kevin, was sitting next to me. We were talking and I guess we were flirting a lot, my friend said to me "Katie, you have a bf, Kevin, back off." And then, well we were like really close, if nobody knew us, they would've thought we were "together". Then we started talking about how I have a problem with people touching my legs. And he was like "ok, so, if i do this *puts his hand on my thigh* you dont like it? even though I've known you for at least 9 years?" When he placed his hand on my thigh, I felt a "spark", a "shock" that went up my entire leg. It was way to weird. Then that night I was listening to Everytime We Touch by Cascada...wow...I've known him since I moved to this town...And like, I have never felt that "spark" with any guy, not even my bf...It was weird, and now I'm getting these second thoughts about him...
What does that mean when I feel that "spark"? Or is it nothing?

Three thoughts on what it could be:

1) Surprise - you weren't expecting him to do that and it gave you a shock.

2) Excitement/Risk - you've got a boyfriend, and another guy just touched your leg... the adrenalin rush of that 'dangerous territory' could have felt like a spark.

3) Confidence/Pride - this guy seems to like you, it's quite a forward thing for him to do. It maybe made you feel attractive, appealing, etc. which could explain the good feeling.

Final thought is that you could have feelings for him, but most likely the 'spark' was more from the situation than the strength of the feelings. If you have strong feelings for your boyfriend, I wouldn't risk the relationship (and the long-term friendship with Kevin) for that one spark.

You may be sub sonciously having feelings for this guy. Take some time to reflect on your current bf and how much you really like him. Then you may want to take a break and give this guy who gives you *sparks* a chance. If you have known and been friends for that long then you must have sometihng in common and you obviously re feeling a spark...so just reflect and think about it.

Sounds like infatuation with a healthy dose of young lust thrown in for good measure. It's natural. You should feel that spark plenty more times as ya progress through your life. If you don't though with your BF any time soon, well.... you're young you can always dump him and go date Kevin.

Well, he definitely likes you! As far as the spark, its like a little connection. Your young, no need to rush into anything, a boyfriend is a boyfriend, not a husband. Continue your friendship and if you continue to second guess your relationship with your current boyfriend, maybe you should consider changing things around.

No it's something, I would go for the spark . If your bf don't give off that vibe than go with the guy that gave u the spark. I hope everything works out girl.

Either your body was responding in an enthusiastically positive way to some casual contact by someone you know well, or it was static electricity. Check for dry, cold conditions or fuzzy carpets.

Good science demands you repeat the test under similar conditions to determine if the results are repeatable. Good conscience may have other suggestions.

Does your bf do that to you? If he doesn't, maybe it's because it's a new thing that this Kevin did. So maybe, it's nothing..
