Hey all! I was thinking (uh oh!) and came up with something I wanted to pass by you all. I have noticed that many of the witnesses on here that answer questions, do not identify themselves as a witness. Would it not be better, and would we not show a solid unity, if we all made sure that we tell people that we are witnesses, in each one of our answers? That way, people with the right heart condition would be abe to see that we are united in what we believe and that everything that comes from the witnesses is coming from the Bible. What do you think about that?

I meant only when you answer questions dealing with R & S.

Thank you all SO much and yes, I see the point that Babydoll made. I think that's the best thing to do. Agape to all of you!

I generally follow the same formula I do in my door to door and informal witnessing here on YA. At times, I do not immediately identify myself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses before sharing Bible truth because I discern that there may may be some prejudice there. I don't want persons to close their minds before at least hearing what I have to say.
Regulars on this forum generally know who I am anyway, just as people in our territory do.
(Very funny timbers)

I love the idea and I try to always identify myself as being one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Sometimes that in itself can be a conversation stopper but I figure anyone truly looking for answers from the Bible will let the Bible do the answering no matter who's actually talking.

Sister CF, I would love to say "That's a great idea", but as has been said before me: It may cause some people to avoid us all together and then the danger that we would be 'encouraging' others (by giving them the idea) to state they're a witness when they are not.
Babydoll and our other bros and sis are right who said that our answers and quotos (which generally use Jehovah's name in a sincere manner) identify us as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I absolutely adore your motive, but in this system it might not be the best solution. Sorry, Sister CF ...

My Christian love to you
and to all my brothers and sisters on here!

its a very good idea, (im a witness!), the only problem is some non-witnesses like to shower abuse on those who say they are. I don't have a problem with peoples abuse simply because i know it'll be worth all their harsh words in the end but some are affected quite badly by it.

Despite that I still think we should say we are, it upbuilds us to see other witnesses sticking up for our beliefs. It also helps non-witnesses know that we are all sharing the same message and don't get confused by those who find it amusing to spread lies. Just my opinion, good point from you!

Sometimes (just like during informal witnessing and door 2 door) I'd prefer to keep that under wraps at first in order 2 surpass the initial 'door slam' reaction - (You're a JW? Oh well, everything you're about to say is wrong and cultish) -

Of course, I'd imagine that our answers identify us among each other well enough. Besides, after a while, it becomes rather obvious who is because you see their answers in the same sections and such.

I can understand your reasoning, but I have to say, I agree with babydoll's comment. I often will not directly come out and say that I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, unless it is a question directed to Jehovah's Witnesses. However, the questioner usually finds out that I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses because I try to direct them to an article from http://watchtower.org that applies to their particular question.

I agree 100% with babydoll. If others read my answer they can most likely identify me as a Jehovah's Witness....when people see the truth they usually know it...

As someone has already pointed out, our answers usually make it clear who are and who are not Jehovah's Witnesses.

By the way I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I was baptised in 1973.
