Not all the time, but sometimes when I wear socks to bed or around the house, the top of my feet get all itchy.
I have several types of material for my socks, so I can't say it is because of my wooly ones or my cotton ones. They all do it to me.
I get chilly feet during the night and don't like to wear slippers all the time.
Does this happen to you at all?

Use a medicated powder for the top of your foot or try switching soaps. a lot of time these body washes leave a residue in the skin that gets irritated in "hot spots" on the body.

Do you shower or do you take baths in a tub? If you shower, chances are that as you sometimes only dry the soles of your feet , a soap foam residue is left on the upper side of your feet. This is a good basis for developping the fungus disorder which we call athlete's foot and which can cause severe itching. Apply a miconazol based salve 1 x 24 hours during seven days on the itching spots, wash AND DRY feet completely and if you take socks to bed let it be fresh socks, not used ones. All the best.
