Blessed by God, that is. Why would he bless you and not the majority of the world?

It is arrogant not to share your blessings with others.

But what are you doing with the blessing? Perhaps you are meant to use that which you are blessed with to help the 75% below you on the material scale. It would be arrogant to hoard it.

IT is never arrogant, but contentment, even if you happened to be among the 75% poorer people, it is a blessing to be among the living.

Blessings don't equal monetary wealth. Everything in life is a blessing your blessing are endless from each breath of air that enters your lungs to every warm smile you give and receive to every blink of an eye. Everyone has blessings no matter how rich or poor.

I agree with your sense of right and wrong regarding so many other people and countries being poor and "unblessed". It does not seem fair that we have so much in America (and other nations like the ones in Europe), while others in Ethopia, Africa, etc. have so little. It is a shame, I'll agree.

However, it would also be a shame not to give thanks for what we DO have. I give thanks every day for the multitude of blessings I have - a car to drive, a nice car to drive, a job, a GOOD job, good health, a healthy child, a supportive family, freedom of religion, so on and so forth. In no way does my thanks for these things take away from my sorrow that others don't have what I have.

I agree, hence the USA is a christian majority nation and the words "god bless America" go in the mouth of every politician, most people have been "brainwashed" into thinking that.

Not really as I am not far off the 75% category and I have no qualms with the rest of the world, although there are lots and lots worse off than me and take it in their stride to live in harmony with the rest of the world.

Moreover what can anyone do for those poor souls who suffer from wars and famine which is not their doing in the first place, so I extend my love and affection to them in my own way.

It's arrogant to believe you are blessed when 2/3 of the world would gladly be rid of your doctrine

Haha! Great question. I've always thought it was conceited of religious people to think they are blessed. The cop out is "Blessed are the poor, for they shall inherit the earth".....but that is all very well for the rich to say!

I don't think so because those same people we call poor believe they are rich because they have lots of cattle, or lots of kids etc....

Being poor is what you make it and I guess in some instances how you see it. We could say that someone who is Amish is poor, but this is their culture. They believe they are rich because they have God's favor upon their lives.
