From my experiences as a paramedic most patients didn't scream during the initial impact. Its after that realization that you been injured is they feel the pain. The other moment is once they must be moved.

How was your femur broken? Was it a clean snap or is it a jagged, diagonal break? The more jagged, uneven break tend to cause more pain throughout because the ends can move around inside and stab you. Its a big concern near blood vessels and nerves.

I'm kinda curious to know what you did to break your femur or hip. Both take a lot of force to break.

Anyway, feel better.

I broke my ankle or not? I heard something go snap, but felt zero and made it back to the car and then to ER. However once in ER the ankle kinda got big, gold ball, followed by baseball, followed by football and then the pain started. So no I do not think it hurts to break a bone, but once the immune system has realized it has a broken bone and rushes to help, THEN it HURTS like Hades!

Ouch! The femur is a huge, large bone. I can't imagine it not hurting. Maybe you're a tough one. But if it didn't hurt, you're just all the more lucky. ;-)
