The true LORD God made a covenant (promise) to Abraham (Genesis 17:8): “And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” In Genesis 17:19: “And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.”

Abraham could not believe what God said because he was a hundred years old and Sarah, 90. Not only were they “old and well stricken in age, and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women (menstruation)” (Genesis 18:11).

Did Sarah conceive and bear a son? Yes, indeed. Is it impossible to God to make an old, barren woman to conceive and give birth to a child? No.

This LORD God sent angel Gabriel to Zecariah to tell him that his wife Elisabeth shall bear him a son to be called John (Luke 1:13). He told the angel, “I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years” (Luke 1:18). Because of his doubt and unbelief, the angel made him “dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed” (Luke 1:20). Since angel Gabriel came from the LORD God, Zechariah became dumb and Elisabeth gave birth to John who became John the Baptist. Zechariah regained his speech when the child John was to be baptized.

The same angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would give birth to a son to be named Jesus (Luke 1:31). Mary could not believe what the angel announced and said, “How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?” (Luke 1:34). As proof, the angel told her that her cousin Elisabeth had conceived a son in her old age and who was barren, and was in her sixth month of pregnancy.

To check it out, Mary went to Hebron in the hill country of Judah, about four-day walk from Nazareth to check it out. True enough, as what the angel said, Elisabeth was pregnant. Mary stayed with Elisabeth for about three months (Luke 1:56) until maybe she gave birth to be sure that the pregnancy was not a fake.

Who can make barren and old women give birth? Who can make a virgin give birth? Who can make a man like Zechariah regain his speech? Only the true God. Are they impossible to the true God? Luke 1:37 states: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Did angel Gabriel come from the true God? Certainly, he does and these are proofs. How about Jibreel, did he present any proof to Muhammad that he came from the true God in his 23 years of revealing the Qur’an to him? Muslims, your answer please.

About as much as there is for the God who revealed Himself to Christ. Both religions rely only on their sacred text without further corroborating evidence. Islam in addition has the Hadiths, however, some of which are authentic, but many of which have been added by people with agenda, without Muhammad's consent or those who knew him, and without corroboration as with earlier Hadiths.

By the way, every major religion has its miracles which the followers believe. Christianity and Judaism are not unique in that department.

"In the name of Allah, most Gracious, most Compassionate".

In Islam, Gabriel is one of God's most chief messengers. In Islam, he is called the chief of the four favoured angels and the spirit of truth, and in some views Gabriel is the same person as the Holy Spirit.

Angel Gabriel brought Allah’s words to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and therefore we call Gabriel the Messenger Angel. There are many other angels and we can read about them in the Quran.
