I have been thinking hard about buying this car but would like some realistic assessments based on people's experience of driving this car. Thanks.

Some people don't even look at the question and they want to crap all over Toyota!!! (I'm looking at "IPRAYTOFORDMOTORCO")

The Suzzuki Swift is a really cool car, you can't go wrong with this little ball of dynomite! It's as reliable as the Toyota's and very cute! They are very inexpensive to buy and fix when the time comes. Have fun driving it! Oh, I would just keep it off the high speed ways, that's their only draw back, they are about as unsafe as a Honda on the Highway... not cool to risk your life there.

As long as you don't have any hills to drive up they're fine. The engines in them are too small for any major hilly terrain driving.

They seem to run forever too, which is a plus for an economy car.

I don't own one myself but a co-worker owns one and loves it. He gets 45-50MPG with it and hasn't had much trouble other than normal wear and tear replacement of parts (i.e. alternator, fan belts, etc).

Anything (particularly a diesel) that does around 60 mpg can be considered,ANYTHING ELSE IS NOT WORTH LOOKING AT.Cost of running is the major factor now,all cars are very reliable now, most of them look the same from a distance,so insurance, fuel consumption ,road tax etc have to be the only considerations for buying transport, RELIABILITY AND RUNNING COSTS.The Ford Fusion is a better buy,but its your money and your choice, but also your mistake.Nothing over 1400 cc.
