It depends on the beer. The majority of beers are good for about four months, even when refrigerated and unopened. Some darker beers however (mostly Belgian ales) actually get better with age, with the fermentation process continuing after bottling. However they are the exception and not the rule.
If the bottle is unrefrigerated though, it will likely be good for a lesser amount of time.

Christopher C knows what he's talkin about.
Bottle conditioned beers continue their fermentationm process in the bottle and actually get better with age. Other beers like your Budweisers, Heinekens, Coronas, Millers, etc. Can go bad after a certain amount of time, if they aren't skunked already.

Use it Marinade for hamburger now.. don't drink maybe flat...
Marinade mix with suace add salt and pepper soak for while then grill adds to flavor...
