It is easy to claim converts when you go to a place like certain parts of Africa and either force large groups of people to become Muslims (or by rewarding the starving with food or such) . Many of the new converts to Islam are walking ignorants . They know how to pray towards Mecca and learn to recite the SOUNDS of the Quo'ran but they can't do simple multiplication and division and they have little real knowledge of the world outside their controlled religious schools and villages such as in Pakistan . But then again you really don't need much education to pray and follow and become a suicide bomber .
The Christians used such tactics during the crusades . Islam is about 600 years behind Chritianity in becoming a civilized community .
Muslim men and women are encouraged to reproduce as much as possible . Many of the new Muslims are babies now . Time will only tell how much of their indoctrination will take hold by the time they are 18 or so .

But they'll probably not be very powerful because of endemic poverty (there is a very real risk that the population growth rate may be higher than the increase in resources available to sustain that population). I think we can expect to see the unsustainable fertility of the Muslim world reduce (it'll have to).

There is also the question of how many Muslims will be lost to secularity, Christianity is losing a lot of ground to the non religious pretty much all across the west and Islam will probably end up following a similar fate.

This is why they should be made to feel at home in their own countries, far, far away from us. Why impose our culture and religion on them by bringing them over? In the name of difference and global diversity, leave them where they are. After all, colonialism and now globalization are trying to change them. Then they come over to Europe and want to change everything there. It doesn't lead to social cohesion and while multiculturalism and some type of immigration is great, in the name of tolerance, don't make Westerners tolerate what they can't tolerate. One cannot tolerate intolerance. Why the Left feels the need to impose this upon us is beyond me. Our society can be diverse and multicultural with immigrants without dragging us through the mud with this one, as has happened in Europe.

I believe that is the case in third world/ poverty stricken areas, but I wonder how many Christians convert to Islam in Modern Countries versus how man Muslims loose their conservative faith in a liberal Modern Culture.

What do numbers matter when you cannot live peacefully amongst yourselves?

Will you honestly care if their are more Muslims when almost all of them will be living in poverty and constant war?
