Sounds dumb, but how do you do it. Or a better question what can you/ do you say?
"Will you be my girlfriend" is just unusal.

1. Courage. Most young men have a problem with speaking to the opposite sex. With a little bit of courage, speaking to a girl is easier than most would think. It may be as simple as shutting out that little voice that says you can't do it. You can do it, your confidence will help you through it.
2. Style. Young women appreciate young men who take time in their appearance. Not to say that you would need a complete make over before attempting to talk to a girl, just play up your style with accent items that fit your personality. Fix yourself up before you attempt to have a conversation with the girl by combing or brushing your hair. Good personal hygiene will also show that you are not just a dirty kid, but a charming guy. Shower daily, brush your teeth, use deodorant. This is an imperative, not a suggestion. Girls make an effort, you can too.
3. The Approach. You only get one chance at a first impression, so make it good. Don't use any cheesy pick-up lines, those don't work. First, before approaching a girl do the "Breath Check." This is performed by cupping your hands together over your mouth and breathing into your hands and smelling your breath. Next, walk up to her and talk about something you have in common. You also might want to ask if she is available, not in a cheesy way, but a natural way. Wait until she is talking and smiling (not disinterested) before you go any further.
If you can't talk comfortably to her, you probably aren't ready to ask her out yet. Get to know her a little first if you can.
The guy that I'm involved with just asked me," Will you please be my girlfriend?" And I said yes because we took such a long time as friends.

I don't think there's any real way to ask... But I suggest doing something nice that shows her that you really do listen and care. For example, if she likes animals, take her on a date to the zoo. If she likes being outdoors, suggest an indoor rock climbing adventure. If she's a smart girl, she'll get the point.

There is not really you say like that you ask the person on a date and if they seem to enjoy themselves ask them out again after a few dates you kind of just are boyfriend/girlfriend

in my partr of the globe it would be nice if you court the girl... girls like that... it's sweet and romantic etc... it would make you feel this sense of pride that you made the girl love you etc...
if you and the girl are already friends, from what i hear from others, there's this risk she would decline... it would be nice if you get to know each other first but not as much as to be very close friends...
but i think the best thing you could do is to prepare this special something be it a sweet gift or plan this special date for her before asking her... she would appreciate it... make her feel special... wink! :)

It doesn't sound silly -- hopefully it's a question we all ask or have been asked. Just be honest, let her know how you feel, and if she feels the same, then you simply ask if she wants to be your girlfriend. Good luck.

I don't know how close you are to the girl, but if you n her are comfortable then just ask her,
but if you are not that close to her then first try to be close and give off signs that your into her and try seeing if she likes you also.

or just send her flowers and a nice card that says..." you and I should be together"
or just ask " would you be my girlfriend" even if it is corny.....

have you ever heard of the word "courting"? in the old fashioned way, you send her flowers, you visit her at her home, learn to know her better, and then ask her if she can be your gf. in this modern day, i guess you e mail her, you text her, but still, you show her she is special to you.

Be honest. Tell her you like her and would like to ask her out on a date. The worst that can happen is that she'll say no. :-)
