I'm 16 and I have a stuttering problem which affects me so much.
I sometimes hold back on talking with friends because I can always feel when a stutter comes on.
Im just starting to work at Subway (which i thought would help me be more confident in talking) and now im nervous because more people will be there to notice it.

Any pointers on how to overcome this?

Relax. Don't concentrate too much on the words you are gonna say cos it's what's causing you to stutter. Just say it slowly, and the problem will improve. I used to have the same problem when I'm nervous or when I'm talking to my crush :)

Concentrate on what you are saying not on how you are saying it. Be cheerful and courteous to others and they will like you despite a speech disfluency. Check out www.stutteringhelp.org, watch their online videos as some show specialists working with stutterers so you'll learn some technigues, and check your public library for their books.
