There is nothing wrong with pleasure, God even gave us the ability to enjoy life to the full because he wants us to have pleasure not because he wants us to not have pleasure. But what are you getting pleasure from that you would say it's going against God?If God tells us not to do something that we might think brings pleasure, it's because it's not good for us, there are many things that will bring us true pleasures and are good for us at the same time, so if you think that you will only get pleasure by doing something that God tels us not to do then you are gravely mistaken and missing out on the real pleasures.

My father once told me that you can usually tell what the right thing to do is because it'll be the hardest of any of your choices. It sounded incredibly cynical at the time. After accumulating a few more years of experience, I'm coming to believe that it's just a statement of fact.

I would give it up.

Look what Christ did for us. God sent His son to give His life, so that we could have forgiveness and everlasting life. I know I can give up something that I would want, especially if it goes against what I believe, for my Father that gave His life for me.

If you do something that is not in line with your belief system, you will experiment guilt on a conscious or subconscious level. You need to be sure that you know how to deal with guilt ... otherwise it will destroy you. God has nothing to do with that, it's your free will ... take responsibility for yourself and know that whatsoever you sow, you will reap. You are free to choose ... my recommendation is that you honor God in your choices ... but you have the choice to consider my advice or to reject it.

If you're doing something that's against what you believe, are you disrespecting your god, or yourself? Do you really think an omnipotent being really cares whether or not you respect it?

To thine own self be true.

We are talking about people that believe in a god that was once pleased with animal blood sacrifices and then needed the blood of Christ to wash sins......what more can you say....don't ask them to make sense

God has given you the ability to make your own choice. There are consequences for both choices, but I think there is more to gain by honouring God than by choosing the worldly option.

Pray, pray, pray.
