so im new to playing the lottery and i was just wondering how does it work? lets say i got the mega number rite and i win that portion then what?? do i bring it to any dealer that plays lotto and receive the winning money prize?? and if i got all the numbers rite and plus the mega will the dealer report it or do i have too??!?!

i live in california.

all vendors that sell MEGA have a brochure available FOR FREE to any player explaining what to do when you win, and wat levels the seller will pay and above that how you file claims for larger wins. Just read the booklet and if there are questions you can either ask the seller or go to website for MEGA Millions. Usually, just log onto the website for your state and click on the MEGA MILLIONS link. I do this from Ohio. Mine is:

Mega plus anything will give you a prize miss the mega and you need at least 3 to win any money. Most of the time anything below 4+mega is under $100. Most of the time the vendor will give you the money, win the big prize and you mail it in.

In most states, the location where you purchased your ticket will pay out up to $600.

Any MAJOR winnings are required to be cashed in at your state's lottery headquarters, where they promptly deduct the 25% Federal Income Tax. :(
