Only if your down payment is MORE than the earned premium and cancellation penalties.

See, you could have put down a down payment, then they found out about an unlisted driver and uprated you. Or maybe you didn't list an at fault accident, and got uprated for it. Now, your down payment doesn't cover the WEEK, let alone a month, and if you cancel, they'll be coming after you for the remaining insurance you owe them.

Yes, but not all of it. They will take a certain percentage out for the time insured as well as their fees whatever they may be.
