This guy (whom I've only know for about a month) asked me out. He is a nice guy, but I just don't like him that way. Should I go out with him anyway? (Also, this guy is five years older than me: I'm 18 and he is 23). Some people say I should go out with him because I might start to like him. However, I already like this other guy. What should I do?

Don't mess with peoples minds or hearts. Why build his hopes up? It's bad karma. If you don't like him in that way then don't go out with him.

If you are not committed to the other guy in your life then go ahead. But after all he's just asked you out for a date. Ignoring his request might break his heart. But if you're not interested in him that way then make it clear to him right at the beginning and also that you're interested in this other guy but in a nice way. This way the fellow will not be heart-broken & you will also be able to speak your mind and discourage the fellow to do any further advancements.

Mate thats not a simple question but hey its just that you dont like him but you should always listen to what your heart says and just go for it but try asking questions to yourself such as :
he is a nice guy but is he really asking me out or just trying to build faith and will later dump me or you could ask whether you ever admired him duuring the last month........or even try considering things such as how he actually demands you, is his dresssing style ok, is he the right person to be with and whatever your heart says just do it most of the time you dont like a person but it actually turns out to be the right one and besides when a guy goes after you it means that he trully loves you i'm telling you there is hardly guys like that who understand your feelings and consider about you..........but if these dont help out try asking god for help and see what he says and i'm sure no one will help better than him

Give it a try once. If you really feel that there is no chance that you are going to like him someday, stop seeing him. It's not fair for if you give him false hope. Anyway, if you really don't like the guy, why waste time thinking about him?

Don't go out with him. You might give him wrong impression of hope. Some guys just don't get it, so be clear as you can to avoid problems down the road.

Well lets just say conflict of interest might or will rot your relationship with this guy you do not like. Then the guy you do actually like will turn his head and look at other females...

If you don't like him that way then just let him know you wouldn't mind going to a movie or something as friends. Being that you like someone else you can also tell him that that is why instead of telling him you don't like him THAT way.

DivaChick,
Follow your heart, without making compromises. You will start yourself down the very slippery slope of poor self-esteem by doing that. Thank him generously, then enjoy the gentleman you already like.

Just let him down easy. We have all been rejected, so try to be nice, yet firm and unmistakeably uninterested in a relationship with him.

With any luck, he will move on soon, and find someone else.

It's a tough call. I'd say you can hang out with him, just make sure he knows you're not interested in anything more than friends and that you have your eyes on someone else.

Whatever you do, don't lead him on. That wouldn't be fair to do to him and will just cause problems for you in the future.
