Years ago, one of my sons dreamt that I had died but I am still here. It is not a foretelling of your mother's death. Just a fear that we have that we're going to lose someone dear to us when we're not ready for that to happen.

All Hindus believe that if some one died in dream, he or she has a longer life. Your mother must be living longer than all of you expect.
But, if it comes to dream interpretation, it says nothing about all this. May be, the circumstances you are in would help in further analysing the dream. It may just be that you want her to protect from some imminent danger which was probably avoided by her death in the dream. Dream does not consider death as a serious catastrophe. It is just that you saved her from some other disaster. Depending on your circumstances and the other parts of your dream, the interpretation could even be different.

Hi Angelaafu,

Anytime we see death in dreams, it only means change in the symbolic sense...... The way a person dies in the dream is rather significant because it is the means by which the change has come.....

Either way, the dream implies that you are witnessing your mother go through some kind of change...... Whatever that change, the dream is calling it death..... and Why?.... because, the dream says, "I saw".... so its definitely something that is either in the process of happening or has happened.........

Death simply means, we cannot go back to the way we once were.... It does not mean dead because the spirit cannot die in a dream... the mind can imply death because we know what death is..... but, because beneath this mound of flesh, we are spirit and the dream is spirit.... we change....

but like a woolly worm that becomes a butterfly cannot become a woolly worm again, to him, it is death....

So it is with dreams.....

Parade magazine just had an article today re dreams. Your dream may mean that your subconscious had picked up something about your mother & you are fearful that she is dying or will die soon.

Sometimes our dreams aren't that difficult to figure out since they usually are a result of our subconscious minds.

That means, she needs your prayers. The next time you will dream of her, please try to recall your conversation. Sometimes, there's a tendency that the dead still communicates with her loved ones for she forgot to tell such message before she passed away. Be sure not to follow your Mom in your dreams. Or else, your soul can no longer return to your body.

It probably means that you love your mother very much and are worried that as you are getting older, so is she, and you obviously do not want to lose her.
If you have never had a premonitions type dream - then I would not worry about it
BUT, if you regularly have dream premonitions!! and they happen then that would be something to worry about!!!

Most of the time it foretells bad news.
But....
As a child I dreamt 3 times in one night my father died, when I got up in the morning he had died exactly as I dreamt.
