i have been working and going to school i have a great job and my classes have been going fine. but recently i just haven't seem to have been caring much. bad things seem to happen to me all the time and they slowly get worse untill something really big and good happens to me then it starts all over. i love my job but i just don't care about it any more i don't see much point in doing it any more and classes seem like they are just as useless. i feel like im going to be doing the same thing in my life. its hard to wake up in the morning when i feel like its just going to be worse than the day before. this has been going on for about 2 years and it feels like its just getting worse.

I don't think it is any less depressing to anyone else. I think that what you are going through, everyone has gone through or continues to go through at some level. I know there are workaholics and over acheivers but at some point in our lives we realize work sucks! We know we have to do it unless we marry rich or hit the lottery until we are atleast 62. Vacations are over much too soon and it's back to the drawing board.

I agree with the first person who answered you, attitude is everything. If you get up with the determination to see what good you can do in this hard world each day and try your best to be a good person and the best at what you do then your life will have purpose. We are all needed and must fulfill our destiny. Take all the bad life throws you and challenge to handle it the best way you possibly can ever growing from it. Someday you will find someone interesting to share your life, hopes and dreams with and maybe even have children. Good luck and remember it is always best to ask yourself because the real truth is within you and please don't take any anti-******-up depressants that a doctor will want to prescribe you after meeting you for 15 minutes. Once your on that roller coaster, it's a whole new ride.

It sounds like depression to me. If it's bugging you that your not sure whether its real or in your head, then check out some websites on depression (they're easy to find if you just put it in a search engine) and you should be able to match up you symptoms to a list. This will give you a better idea of whats going on, and also offer you some tips on coping and how to turn things around.

If you are still in doubt, go to the doctor and they will be able to confirm it for you and give you a hand in the right direction. There are loads of options available, the hardest thing is just working yourself up to a point were you feel able to use them.

Even though it's been going on for a few years now don't lose hope; you will come through it evenualy. It may not be all sunshine and rainbows when you do, but it will be better; and once you start having a few good days you can start to imagain a better future. Things will go wrong and bring you back down for a while (like you have been experiancing already) but its a cycle you can break. Look into cognitive therapy. Its practical and easy to do over the web if you dont want to go to a specialist. You can also take what you want from it and skip the bits which sound stupid to you.

I completly understand the loss of motivation towards work and your classes. If there's a way to make it easyer then take it. Concider how important they are to you in the scheme of things. If you really love your job then at some point you will begin to enjoy it again, but if it seems like a dead end to you and you dont care about it anymore then maby quittng, or seeing if you can take some time off is a good idea.
Try and keep up with your work, even if it dose seem pointless. In the end it'll help you make sure you dont end up doing the same thing all your life like you fear.

If youv'e got people to talk to about how your feeling then make good use of it they're their to help. If you dont right now then try to open up to someone who you can rely on and fell comfprtable with.

Don't worry, however you feel now it will fade in time, so don't give up. Hope this helped a bit.

Yes I think you might be depressed. Esp if you can't get excited or happy about anything. Sometimes depression feels like a dark cloud hanging over you. Why don't you get counselling? Just check out some counsellors....often they do a subsidised rate and stuff for students if you go to the right place. Just say you think you are depressed and you want to talk about it..then tell them what you wrote here. Also there are those free ones....the free phone counselling lines. When I was younger i trained to work on one of those so the people have some training and stuff. You need to fix this. good luck. Also if you do get counselling its important to make sure you are comfortable with the person before spilling your guts too much..not every counsellor will be right for you.

This does sound like depression, but to be sure I'd go get help if I were you my friend. If it's getting worst, don't ignore it or think you can fight this alone, the first step to take is to talk to someone you trust, let out whats getting to you.

I've suffered and in some ways still suffering from depression and went through the same problem when school, and doing my everyday routine. My motivation was gone and it only got worst because I didn't seek help. Do something now because the situation worsens. It's never too late to turn it around the other way. Good luck!

Definitely depression. If it's just a biochemical thing, an antidepressant med may be all you need, but I recommend seeing a counselor first. If you're in school, there should be free counseling available. You do sound like you're ensnared by "negative thinking," but that's not something you can fix by just deciding to "think positive." Depression caused by negative thinking patterns is very responsive to something called "cognitive therapy." Also, statements like "i love my job but i just don't care about it any more" are so totally illogical it makes me think you are blocking some kind of really painful thoughts or feelings, & maybe a therapist could help you get past the block.

No one but a doctor or psychiatrist (i prefer the latter) can diagnose depression, but that's how mine started. I would be all excited about school and then the second semester I couldn't make myself go because it just didn't matter. But it has to have lasted for over a couple months straight to be official "depression" otherwise you're just having an off couple of weeks (which does happen)

Two years is a long time for this, go talk to your doctor about this. Think about what would make you happy. Maybe a different field of work would be better? Maybe you need more exercise? Are you eating food that is good for you? It is possible that you need some medication too. Check out site below. Good luck.

Yes that sounds like depression and that is not your fault. Depression is caused by a chemical imballance in the brain. Just like diabestes is a chemical imballance with insulin. Get an apointment with a psychiatrist and get evaluated for depression.

I'm not a doctor, but all the symptoms you listed sounds like what I've heard to be depression, you might want to talk to a doctor, or pshycologist, they can diagnose you. What do you have to lose it can only make you feel better if your feeling as bad as you say you are, it could probablly only get better
