When caring for an elderly person, what groups of symptoms would I expect to see, indicating progression of the disease?

The beginning stages are subtle, forgetfulness ex. cant find car keys, don't remember little things, but then it becomes progressive, ex. start getting confused, put milk in the cupboard, pick up the salt and stare at it cant remember what to do with it. Not recognizing where your at. Symptoms get worse with time and no treatment. Sooner the treatment the longer you may have to prolong the symptoms. I hope this helps. Good Luck
