when christians and islams use text from the bible to prove their beliefs and reason? thats like supporting Hitlers beliefs by quoting "mein kampf".

Bible fanatics also tempt to prove its validity by comparing actual events that happened at the time of its writing, but that just proves that the bible WAS written, what does that prove in the terms of god?

Im not an atheist and christianity is worse than nazism, more people died because of it. Did you know that the bubonic plague killed more people than ww2? because christians killed anyone who tried to find a cure and didnt rely on god

In some way, it makes me want to post things like this...

Mother Goose Vol./Pg. 3:12 "Baa, baa, black sheep, Have you any wool? Yes sir, yes sir, Three bags full; One for my master, One for my dame, And one for the little boy That lives in our lane."

SEE! This PROVES that the boy who lived on the lane received wool from a black sheep that could talk!

The book says it, so it must be true.

True, the Bible WAS written, but it's written ABOUT God. If a Christian isn't to use the Bible as a reference and means of support to their answers I'll ask "why not?" Where do you think a vast amount of Christianity comes from? No one alive today was there 2000 years ago so going to the Bible only makes sense. Were you around when Columbus discovered America? No. No one alive today was around back then. Without using a history book and what you learned from a history book (what a teacher taught you in school came out of a history book) tell me about Columbus. Remember, you can't use a history book to substantiate your answer. Can you do it? I don't think so. So-why is it wrong for a Christian to use the Bible?

As a CHRISTIAN I will just say this, God inspired the Bible, and yes we believe in its teachings. If you want further proof, go look at some stuff in archeology, there are numerous sights that support the Bible, God, and His teachings. If you want to know about them, just ask, and i will send you as many examples as you could ever want. But that would mean that you would have to take it upon yourself to study them out to see that God is the only true and right way to think. Just go and look up one sight, it is a place that uses science and archeology to prove both God and creation. that sight is the museum of creation, and is located in Santee California. By the way I will pray for you.

I find text from the Bible very useful when I'm trying to understand Christian's beliefs and reasoning.

However, I completely sympathize with you. If you don't already believe in the Bible's validity, I can see how text from the Bible may not convince you. I know that I wouldn't rely on text from the Book of Mormon or Koran since I don't believe in the validity of those books.

I guess the question for us now is, what is a better way for Christians to prove their beliefs and reasonings? :p

. What it does show is the writers capability to record history accurately. This isn't absolute proof of God's existance but it does tend to give credibility to the writer. If he was accurate about the history then how do we know he wasn't as accurate in his recordings of the spiritual happenings of his time. If he is wrong then then some burdon of proof should be exhibited to show where he was wrong.

Well, if you want to quote Mein Kampf, then quote Mein Kampf. It doesn't bother me what you want to do. So since I am a Christian, let me do what I do! Okay?

So no. I don't hate it, I either skip past it if it's ridiculously long, or thumbs down it so I don't have to scroll past it every time ( I don't like the thumbs down thing in this category, it should just be a personal affecting 'Hide' button) .

using quotes is the best way to back up what your talking about & where you got it from.... thats no different then using a word from the dictionary & then giving its definition. this question just wont suffice & your acting ignorant if you think people wont defend there own views without evidence to support where it comes from since people is always saying thats not true or your wrong or he.she doesnt know what there talking about. DUHHH

(just stain facts so dont knock me)

Yes, I do hate that. That's like saying that because the fairy tales of Brother Grimm was writen in a certain era, they must be true.

You have little faith. Christians quote from the Bible because the Bible is the way, the truth, and the light. The Bible is what tells us all about Jesus and how we are saved through faith.

We would not want any critics to tell us we said something wrong, because there was nothing in the Bible that said it, now would we? x_____x
