How long does it take to detect the U-238? And does the military test for it during their outgoing physicals? What about Soldiers from Afghanistan?

I have 2 sons that have returned from Iraq and a daughter leaving in a few weeks for Iraq and a daughter in Afhganistan.

If this shows up in their blood work, I want them to be sure it is documented so years down the line when the government decides it is a real disease, they are covered.

U-238 isn't detected by a blood test. And there is more background radiation in Denver on a sunny afternoon than exists in military ordnance using depleted uranium.

U-238 isnt a Disease, thats part of the Problem, ignorance of what D/U does or does not do.

D/U is used for specialized armor penetration, not every round used is D/U.

Google the Nato brief on D/U, dont follow the fear, learn the truth.

You have very little to worry about in that area, the Military no longer uses D/U ammo, it was discontinued due to health and environmental concerns, at least that's what the Marine Corps told us.
