The whole idea of the "piss test' is to identify drug users. If they schedule regular tests, drug users could plan their "recreation" to avoid detection. But if you think like the unit commander you can make a good guess. The commander knows the troops went home and partied. If the troops use drugs they probably used it while at home.
My guess is within the first week at AIT.....you will have a "piss" test.
If you want a military career do not use drugs....AND do not hang out with those that do.... You can come up "positive" through a contact high (just being around others who are using)

Usually after leave. I was in AIT during Christmas and we got time off, because so many took leave there was a test when we returned. However they dont test every sample usually just a percentage of everyone taking the test. If he didnt smoke much and it was more than a few days ago he should be alright.

Yep...... and it was his choice to smoke. Even if he isn't tested it is obvious he didn't really get the whole basic thing and is willing to take a chance on his future. So odds are he will get busted later for something.
So yet one more.... went in, things didn't go right and get out saying "the military blows".

When I was in AIT my company had a wide spread drug problem, so we had a 100% UA every monday. "Your friend" may want to re-think his priorities, all that hard work at basic would be pointless w/ a hot UA at AIT. They will discharge "your friend" for a hot UA at AIT. Less than honorable.

About anytime you have a break in service, Christmas Leave, Block Leave, break between schools (expecially at the beginning), are normal on top of the random monthly tests.

relies upon on how good brigade feels approximately infantrymen who try warm. a superb variety of brigades have a no-tolerance coverage whilst it is composed of drug use. i think of the employer CO relatively went out on a limb for this guy, yet that's on her. would not recommend brigade will certainly hold your brother. ability situation in the event that they hold him...it would desire to then open the door for proceedings of unfairness from different infantrymen notably people who have been disciplined/kicked out for finding out warm. It additionally instruments undesirable precedent and coverage, and presently no one needs that type of difficulty.

All commands in the military can conduct random drug tests. Had to take at least one drug test at every command I was stationed at while in the Navy.
